Workshop designed specifically to equip IT
professionals with the skills and knowledge required to maximise
their success in today’s business environment
Wokingham (United Kingdom)/Cairo
(Egypt) – 24 October 2011 - Global Knowledge, the
worldwide leader in IT training and Business Skills, announced
today the launch of a new program ‘Business Skills for IT
Professionals’ in the region that covers Europe, Middle East and
Africa (EMEA). This new offering is designed specifically to equip
IT professionals with the skills and knowledge required to maximise
their success in today’s business environment.
As the pace of technological innovation
continues to accelerate, organisations are increasingly looking
towards their IT departments to help capitalise on new technologies
in order to achieve business results. This shift in
expectations with regards to how IT interacts with the business has
created the need for IT professionals to develop a new set of
competencies.
‘While there are some programs in the market
that focus on communication or leadership skills for technical
people, there really aren’t any programs that provide the
opportunity to learn about all of the inter-personal and personal
skills required by today’s IT professional’ says Michelle Moore,
Leadership and Business Skills Product and Business Development
Director for Global Knowledge in EMEA. ‘Our new program
allows IT people to develop more than just communication skills. It
also addresses key competencies such as being business-focused and
acting as an enabler of change.’
The new 2-day workshop was developed drawing
on content from a variety of programs in Global Knowledge’s
award-winning portfolio as well as current research.
‘This Business Skills for IT Professionals
workshop provides delegates with the opportunity to learn how to
maximise personal effectiveness from a company who has an in-depth
understanding of their real life challenges and opportunities.’
says Richard Pryor-Jones, President of Global Knowledge, EMEA. ’Our
customers tell us that they see the IT expertise of a Learning
Provider as a critical factor in the success of their development
initiatives,’ added Pryor-Jones.
